Where do I start??
Galena, Illinois is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Here is a link that explains a little bit about the history of Galena:
As it states Galena is one of the "most scenic areas in the Midwest." I could not agree more with this statement!
Rob and I have been to Galena, Illinois twice. Both times I was blown away by the spectacular views. The second time we went there we drove appoximately 485 miles in a 10 hour time span. I've never met anyone before who enjoys driving around with no destination in mind like I do. We can spend hours taking dirt roads and walking through nature trails that most normal people would probably avoid. But that's what I love about him. He can appreciate the small things just like I can. When you take the time out of your busy day to enjoy those smalls things..you'll be amazed at what you can find. Deer, snakes, donkeys, abandoned ammo recycling bases, houses that look like they were hit by tornados, a house that is 184 years old. And we can't forget the hill billies (or as Rob would call them "Mountain Williams").
Here are my favorite photos from our day trips to Galena, Illinois:

"The best things in life are free." I truly believe this. And nature is one of them!
