Chicago Blizzard

A few weeks ago I experienced my first blizzard. Now let me remind you I was born and raised in Southern California. Where it's 100* in February. Not so much here. We got so much snow in such a short period of time. It was so intense. But I have say it was kind of exciting. I mean it being Winter and all there's not much else going on so this was pretty interesting. We got about two feet of snow within a 24 hour period of time. Rob and I were literally SNOWED IN. We couldn't get out of his driveway. Finally when I couldn't ignore my growling stomach anymore we decided to grab a shovel and get to work. Okay. Honestly Rob did all the shoveling. But he was my hero! We finally made it to the store to get some food to make.

It took all that snow about three weeks to melt. Even when our temperatures reached the 50's for a few days, not all the snow melted. That's how much we got. Here's some photos from the Chicago Blizzard of 2011. (And please excuse the quality of these photos. They were taken on my cell phone because I forgot to bring my camera to Rob's house!)

Now that I have experienced some intense Midwest weather, Spring is welcome to come any day now!
