New Years in Michigan Part: 2

(This is a continuation of Part: 1)

Our second stop was Whiskey Creek Beach. This is one of the many beaches of Lake Michigan. Besides the turquoise water, the best part about it was the fact that we were the only two people there. Well up until we were leaving, then a van full of crazies just like us pulled up. It was freeeeezing but it was well worth it! Once you see the photos you'll understand why. :)

Here's a few more gorgeous shots we got on our drive.

Seeing an incredible sunset is always a nice ending to an already perfect day.

Our third day in Michigan we headed to down town Grand Rapids. This was another first for me. I've never been there before. The people seemed kind of snooty but Rob and I didn't care we made the best of it. They have this thing called the "Sky Walk" which is a long enclosed tunnel that goes from building to building. It was pretty cool. It's kind of like you are outside but at the same time you are inside the tunnel so it's warm and it leads you to the next building without actually being outdoors. One part of it took us through the Amway Grand hotel and plaza. This hotel was probably one of the nicest hotels I've ever been in. It was ahhhh-mazing!

Here's my favorite photos of down town Grand Rapids.

These next two photos are my two favorites of the day. The first one is a squirrel we saw enjoying a piece of pizza he found. And the second is a photo of Rob.

After leaving Grand Rapids we took a drive through the countryside. In my opinion this is one of the most serene, peaceful things a person could do. I love seeing the old farm houses and barns. There is something so beautiful about it. After about an hour we stopped in this little town called Ionia. This town has been around since 1865 so as you can see in the photos, the architecture is extremely old. The town is supposedly haunted too.

Like always, Rob and I had an amazing trip. We are looking forward to going back and exploring new territory!
